Two-match ban for Caprari

Benevento’s Gianluca Caprari has been suspended for the next two Serie A games, while Fiorentina defender Lucas Martinez Quarta misses one match.

The former Sampdoria and Parma player was sent off during the 3-1 defeat to Hellas Verona on Monday night and has been suspended for two games.

The Disciplinary Commission has given him two-matches out after the 27-year-old insulted the match officials in Verona.

Hellas Verona must cope without Davide Faraoni and Mert Cetin, as Gianluca Lapadula will spearhead Benevento at the Bentegodi tonight.

Tonight’s match in Veneto starts at 19.45 UK time.

Verona's Gunter free of COVID

Hellas Verona confirm defender Koray Gunter has now recovered from COVID-19 and could be available for Monday’s game with Benevento.

It kicks off on Monday at 19.45 GMT, click here for a match preview.

Gunter had tested positive on October 11 and was in isolation for three weeks.

A statement released this morning by the club states that Gunter has now tested negative for Coronavirus.

Verona duo suffer strains

Hellas Verona announce that Marco Davide Faraoni and Kevin Rüegg have suffered muscular injuries.

The club released a statement noting that Faraoni has sustained a Grade I strain of the soleus muscle in his left calf.

As for Swiss international Rüegg, he has suffered a Grade II lesion to the femoral bicep in his left thigh.

The recovery time for the two players has not yet been calculated, as their progress will be evaluated on a daily basis.

Coppa Italia: Fiorentina, Genoa, Verona squeeze through

There were slender Coppa Italia victories for Fiorentina, Genoa, Parma and Udinese, but Verona needed penalties to beat Venezia after a 3-3 thriller.

Fiorentina welcomed the first goals for Lorenzo Venuti and Jose Callejon, but Santini performed a stunning overhead kick to get Serie C side Padova back into it at 2-1.

Goalkeeper Emanuele Terracciano had to make a last-gasp save on Nicastro’s header to prevent it going to extra time.

Paratici fined for disrespecting the referee

The Disciplinary Commission has fined Juventus director Fabio Paratici €15,000 for his conduct towards the referee in the match against Hellas Verona.

Among the decisions by the sports judge in Serie A, Paratici was fined ‘at the end of the first half, in the dressing room’.

The sporting director was fined €15,000 due to “threatening attitude and disrespectful criticism towards the referee.”

Official: Verona extend with Faraoni

Hellas Verona have officially announced the extension of Davide Faraoni’s deal at the Bentegodi until June 2024.

The 29-year-old arrived from Crotone in January 2019, initially on loan for six months, before signing a permanent deal in July 2019.

His previous deal expired in June 2022 and the right-back has officially extended and committed to Ivan Juric’s side for the next four seasons.

Juventus: No muscle injury for Bonucci

Juventus have announced tests have revealed Leonardo Bonucci has not suffered a serious muscle injury.

The defender had to leave the pitch against Hellas Verona last night due to problems with his muscle and this morning the Bianconeri defender underwent tests to study the extent of the problem.

The Old Lady have issued a statement of the outcome from the medical examinations.

“The tests he underwent today did not reveal any muscle injuries to his right thigh,” the statement read.

It was an intense match in Turin, with disallowed goals, woodwork rattled, Andrea Favilli’s Verona opener and an inspired Dejan Kulusevski equaliser.

The Bianconeri thought they had taken the lead before half-time with an Alvaro Morata chip, but it was ruled narrowly offside.
