Highlights: Parma 1-0 Verona

Parma celebrated their first win of the season after a Jasmin Kurtic goal in the opening minute at the Stadio Tardini.

The midfielder was ready to meet the Yann Karamoh cross, which caught defenders napping barely 30 seconds into the match.

Verona tried hard to get back into it, but Giuseppe Pezzella and Gaston Brugman made goal-line clearances.

U21: Frabotta among new Azzurrini faces

Gianluca Frabotta of Juventus and Verona’s Matteo Lovato are among the new faces in the Italy Under-21 squad to face Iceland and the Republic of Ireland.

The Azzurrini continue their European Championship qualifiers in Reykjavik on Friday October 9 and in Pisa against Ireland on Tuesday October 13.

There are three newcomers in the squad called up by coach Paolo Nicolato, specifically Virtus Entella goalkeeper Alessandro Russo, full-backs Frabotta of Juventus and Lovato of Verona.

Official: Vieira completes Verona move

Ronaldo Vieira has officially moved from Sampdoria to Hellas Verona, on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for a reported €7m.

The 22-year-old was born in Guinea-Bissau and moved to Portugal as a child, then England at age 11, where he came up through the Leeds United academy.

He was sold to Sampdoria for €7.1m in 2018, plus 10 per cent of his future transfer fee.

Vieira made 29 competitive appearances for the Blucerchiati last season.

Cyprien having Parma medical

Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien is undergoing his Parma medical this morning ahead of a transfer worth €7m.

The 25-year-old arrived last night and was photographed entering the medical centre this morning for his routine tests.

According to Sky Sport Italia, it is a loan at a cost of €1.5m with obligation to buy at the end of the season for a total of €7m.

Cyprien had also been linked with Aston Villa, Sampdoria and Hellas Verona over the summer and Milan last term.

Report: Verona in pole for Ounas

Adam Ounas could leave Napoli this week, as Hellas Verona and Cagliari are reportedly joined by Torino in the chase for the 23-year-old.

Ounas arrived from Girondins de Bordeaux for €12m in July 2017 but has struggled to convince at the San Paolo.

The right winger recently returned from a spell on loan at OGC Nice in Ligue 1 and could be on his way out after only 39 competitive games for the Azzurri.

Done deal: Adrien Silva to Sampdoria

Sampdoria have agreed terms with Adrien Silva and it’s reported Leicester City agreed to let him go for free.

The 31-year-old just returned from a loan spell at Monaco, joining them in January 2019.

His contract with Leicester was due to run until June 2021, but Sky Sport Italia report he has been released as a free agent.

The Portuguese midfielder should arrive tomorrow or Saturday for a medical.

In turn, Samp send Ronaldo Vieira to Hellas Verona.

Kumbulla: 'Roma a step up in my career'

Marash Kumbulla assures he ‘did not hesitate’ when Roma made an approach to Hellas Verona. ‘It’s a step up in my career.’

The centre-back had also been linked with other clubs, including Napoli and Lazio, but opted for the Giallorossi.

“When I heard of their interest, it was exciting and I did not hesitate, because of the club, the city and fans. It was an easy decision to make,” said the Albania international in his press conference.
