D'Aversa: 'Brescia not inferior to Parma'

Parma coach Roberto D’Aversa believes that despite their position in the table, Brescia aren’t inferior to his side. “If we think like that, there can be difficulties.”

They welcome the Rondinelle in their final game of 2019, with kickoff at 14:00 GMT. You can read the match preview here.

The Ducali are seventh in Serie A, whilst their opponents sit in the relegation zone, but D’Aversa doesn’t believe his side are better.

Balotelli scores first Brescia goal

Mario Balotelli and Romulo scored their first goals in a Brescia jersey during a 3-2 friendly victory over Frosinone.

The Rondinelle took advantage of the break for international duty to have a practice run against Serie B side Frosinone.

Balotelli, who has to complete the four-match ban left over from Ligue 1 before he makes his Serie A debut for Brescia, was on target for the first time in this friendly.

He rose above the crowd to nod in a Romulo corner after 26 minutes.

Balotelli makes Brescia debut

Mario Balotelli made his Brescia debut in a 5-1 friendly victory over Mantova, with Luca Tremolada and Leonardo Morosini scoring twice each.

The former Inter, Milan, Nice and Marseille striker cannot take part in Serie A games yet, as he arrived with a four-match ban, so was given an hour run-out in a friendly organised during the break for international duty.

Deadline day signing Romulo also made his debut and Balotelli had a hand in their opening goal, his ferocious free kick parried for Alessandro Semprini’s tap-in.

Romulo out, Donati in for Genoa?

Brescia are negotiating for Romulo, with Genoa ready to replace him with ex-Bayer Leverkusen and Mainz right-back Giulio Donati.

Romulo has just returned from a loan spell with Lazio, where he struggled to get playing time, and does not seem to be in Genoa’s plans for this term either.

According to Sky Sport Italia, newly-promoted Brescia are talking to Genoa and Romulo’s agents to purchase the Brazilian.

If he is released, then Genoa are expected to turn towards free agent Donati as a replacement.
