Probable line-ups: Barca-Inter

Barcelona have Lionel Messi back but are not expected to start him against a Romelu Lukaku-less Inter this evening.

Messi has recovered from a calf injury to regain his place in the squad, alongside Ousmane Dembele and teenage sensation Ansu Fati.

However, despite tweeting ‘The Goat’ had returned, Barca will probably start youth product Carles Perez on the right wing against Inter.

As for the Nerazzurri, Lukaku is out with a muscle problem so the stage is set for Alexis Sanchez to partner Lautaro Martinez up top.

Conte: 'Courageous Inter at Camp Nou'

Antonio Conte is without Romelu Lukaku, but defends Alexis Sanchez and warns Inter will face Barcelona “with courage and hunger, not helmet and shield to defend the goal.”

It kicks off on Wednesday at Camp Nou at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

“Our group is certainly an interesting and difficult one, as we realised full well with the draw against Slavia Prague,” said Conte in his Press conference.

Ultimate test for Inter

It is the crunch week for Inter, as Vilizar Yakimov examines their chances in Barcelona just days before hosting Juventus in a potential Serie A decider.

It would be safe to say that Antonio Conte’s first months at the helm of Inter could’ve hardly gone any better.

After six rounds of Serie A football, the Nerazzurri have a perfect record and deservedly sit  at the top of the table with 18 points. The Beneamata have scored 13 goals and conceded only two and although it’s way too early to jump into conclusions, they already look like a genuine title contender.

Napoli are trying to stave off Barcelona interest in Fabian Ruiz by offering him a substantially improved contract.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Fabian’s agents are already in intensive negotiations with Napoli over a new and improved deal going beyond the current expiry of 2023.

Barca bank on Napoli's Fabian

Barcelona have set their sights firmly on Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz for next summer, claim Mundo Deportivo.

The 23-year-old Spain international was purchased from Real Betis in July 2018 for his full €30m release clause.

His value on the transfer market has since doubled following impressive showings in Serie A and the European Under-21 Championships.

Fabian has already picked up three senior caps for Spain and is under contract with the Partenopei until June 2023.
