Junior Firpo plus €70m for Lautaro?

Barcelona have reportedly slapped a €41m price tag on Junior Firpo, hoping to meet the €111m release clause of Inter forward Lautaro Martinez.

The Argentine 22-year-old continues to write headlines in Italy and Spain, as the Blaugrana study every possible solution to get their man.

Last month, reports claimed Inter and Barcelona had agreed to include Junior Firpo in the deal, as the Catalans are trying to find possible swap deals to make up the amount.

Barcelona 'can't afford Lautaro'

Barcelona cannot afford Inter star Lautaro Martinez and are struggling to get anything done on the transfer market, claims Mundo Deportivo.

While the Blaugrana never even attempted to hide their pursuit of Martinez, the fact remains he has a contract with Inter and release clause set at €111m.

The Nerazzurri have no intention of selling for less than that, although they could conceivably accept €90m cash plus a player to reach that figure.

Moratti: 'Wanted Mertens-Lukaku at Inter'

Former Inter President Massimo Moratti admits he ‘would’ve liked to see Dries Mertens alongside Romelu Lukaku’ at San Siro, just as he’d tried to sign Marek Hamsik.

Mertens had been very close to agreeing terms with the Nerazzurri, but a couple of weeks ago found the breakthrough to extend his contract at the Stadio San Paolo.

“I would’ve liked to see Mertens at Inter, as I think he’d have been the ideal partner for Romelu Lukaku,” Moratti told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Roma 'turned down Lautaro' in 2018

Former Roma director Monchi ‘turned down’ the chance to sign Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club in January 2018 for €8m, revealed an agent.

The striker eventually joined Inter for €25m in July that year, and is now part of a bidding war with Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid at €111m.

“I had offered Lautaro Martinez to Roma in January 2018 for €8m,” agent and intermediary Luis Ruzzi told Tuttomercatoweb.

Report: Dembele not ready for Juve

According to L’Equipe, Ousmane Dembele has no intention of leaving Barcelona, even if Juventus did make an approach.

The 23-year-old wide attacker made a massive €125m transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017, but had a serious injury and made only nine competitive appearances this season, scoring one goal.

Dembele had been mentioned as a potential part of the exchange deal bringing Miralem Pjanic to Camp Nou, after Arthur Melo rejected the switch.

'Lautaro to Barca would help Argentina'

Argentina CT Lionel Scaloni has reiterated that his team would stand to gain an ‘advantage’ if Lautaro Martinez left Inter for Barcelona.

Scaloni’s comments come after he claimed just two weeks ago that it would be ‘better’ for Argentina if Martinez also became Lionel Messi’s strike partner at club level.

“It would be an advantage for us, but Lautaro’s still young,” he told TyC Sports.

Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele reportedly wants a move to Juventus this summer and the Old Lady consider the possibilities.

The Bianconeri and the Blaugrana have been negotiating for Miralem Pjanic in recent weeks and a possible exchange deal including Arthur Melo.

But Mundo Deportivo claims Dembele has caught sporting director Fabio Paratici’s attention and the newspaper claims the player has already said 'yes' to discuss a transfer to the Allianz Stadium.

Sport: Lautaro agrees Barcelona terms, but...

Spanish newspaper Sport claims Lautaro Martinez has agreed personal terms with Barcelona worth €12m per year, but Inter are refusing to budge from his €111m release clause.

According to the paper, which was also quoted in Argentina by Clarin and Italy by other sources, points to an apparent five-year contract worth €12m plus performance-related bonuses.

It’s a huge proposal for the 22-year-old striker, who only joined Inter from Racing Club Avellaneda in the summer of 2018 for €25m.
