Barcelona in for Fabian?

Barcelona have reportedly targeted Napoli star Fabian Ruiz as an alternative, should Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic slip.

The Bosnia international Pjanic has been linked with a move to Camp Nou, but Mundo Deportivo claims the Blaugrana have identified the former Real Betis man Fabian as a viable alternative.

The Spain international’s contract in Naples expires in June 2023 and has allegedly been followed by Real Madrid in recent months, but Barcelona could try to beat their rivals.

Albertini: 'What inspired 1994 Milan Final'

Demetrio Albertini and Adriano Galliani reveal how Barcelona coach Johan Cruyff accidentally inspired Milan to a 4-0 Champions League victory in 1994.

The Rossoneri were the underdogs going into that Final in Athens, especially as they were missing both first choice centre-backs, Franco Baresi and Alessandro Costacurta.

“The joy we felt was immense,” former midfielder Albertini told the official Milan Instagram Live channel.

Inter bet it all on Tonali

Inter are increasingly focusing their transfer attention on to Brescia talent Sandro Tonali, aiming to create an all-Italian midfield for a generation.

The Nerazzurri have emerged as the favourites for the 20-year-old, who is also tracked by Juventus, Milan, Manchester United and Barcelona.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tonali is considered the absolute priority for Antonio Conte’s squad, as he’d form the basis for the Italy midfield of the future with current Inter stars Nicolò Barella and Stefano Sensi.

Barca turn from Pjanic to Fabian

Barcelona could target Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz if they fail to work out a deal for Juventus star Miralem Pjanic, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Blaugrana had agreed to swap Pjanic with Arthur Melo, but the Brazilian has seemingly refused to accept the switch in the other direction.

With the two clubs debating other alternatives to Arthur, now Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo suggests Barcelona are looking to a different player and club entirely.

Barca push Arthur towards Juventus

Spanish newspaper AS insists Barcelona are still trying to push Arthur Melo into accepting a swap deal with Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

The Brazilian has stated repeatedly that he has no intention of leaving Camp Nou, which has thrown a rather large spanner in the works for his club.

He cost €31m from Gremio in the summer of 2018 and has not delivered on the early promise, as the Blaugrana consider him too inconsistent.

Lacazette not convinced by Inter

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has emerged as a potential Inter transfer target, but L’Equipe also warns he doesn’t seem interested in the move.

According to the French paper, Lacazette would be one of the alternatives should Barcelona activate the €111m release clause in Lautaro Martinez’s contract.

Inter on to a Werner

With Inter seemingly in the race for Timo Werner’s signature, Richard Hall asks can the Nerazzurri afford not to sign the German hitman?

If Inter want to be classed as long term competitors for the Scudetto, then they must bring in players like Timo Werner. They ought to be favourites for the RB Leipzig forward, ready to trigger his €60m release clause when Liverpool and Juventus won’t. This of course implies he’d be a replacement for Lautaro Martinez, but the Nerazzurri should be making the move regardless of what may happen with the Argentine.
