The 51-year-old was sacked by Inter earlier this month, having himself replaced Frank de Boer earlier this season.
The former Lazio boss spent six years with Fiorentina as a player, and today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports that he has agreed a two-year contract to return to the Viola.
The Tuscan club are impressed with Pioli’s ability to work with youngsters, and expect him to help the development of the likes of Federico Chiesa.
