FIFA agent Alessio Sundas has confirmed his proposed takeover of Fiorentina has collapsed. “We waited a month for them…”

Sundas had headed a consortium to purchase Fiorentina from the Della Valle family, but despite vowing to “put €100m on the table”, he felt the Viola did not take the offer seriously.

“We’re sorry that Fiorentina’s owners didn’t give serious consideration to a serious offer, which came from businessmen involved in listed companies, ready to put €100m euros on the table,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We’d drafted a plan to revitalise and strengthen the Viola. We would’ve submitted it to the Della Valle family, in the event that they wanted not only economic guarantees but also technicalities regarding the future of the team.

“Unfortunately, beyond a generic letter, in which only credentials of the businessmen were asked for by the club’s owners, there hasn’t been anything else.

“It’s a silence that we judge to be definitive closure. We waited a month for them, and now we think it’s time to take a step back.”

The Della Valles had put Fiorentina up for sale two months ago, but the club remain in limbo and have sold the likes of Borja Valero, Matias Vecino and Federico Bernardeschi without any noteworthy replacements being brought in.
