A goal either side of half-time gave Tottenham Hotspur a 2-0 victory over a shaky Juventus in Saturday’s friendly at Wembley Stadium.

Juve named a full-strength XI for the clash with Tottenham as Daniele Rugani partnered Giorgio Chiellini in central defence and new boy Douglas Costa started out wide.

However, Spurs needed just 10 minutes to ask more questions of the Bianconeri’s post-Bonucci back line as Kieran Tripper’s pinpoint cross was headed in by Harry Kane.

However, Spurs needed just 10 minutes to ask more questions of the Bianconeri’s post-Bonucci back line as Kieran Tripper’s pinpoint cross was headed in by Harry Kane.

Miralem Pjanic’s backpass was then miscontrolled by Gianluigi Buffon and shabbily cleared away, before Kane failed to hit the target after the ball was crossed back in.

Moussa Sissoko, a former Juve target, hit a curler that struck the inside of Buffon, while Giorgio Chiellini’s poor clearance was almost punished by Dele Alli, who fired just over.

Dele soon threaded a reverse through ball for Christian Eriksen, who rounded the Italy veteran and tapped into an empty net.

Kane came close to grabbing his second of the game, wriggling through Juve’s centre-backs with ominous ease, but he blasted his shot onto the bar.

Paulo Dybala was ineffective until the second half, when his whipped drive was tipped around the post by Hugo Lloris.

The Bianconeri pushed hard for a goal back in the latter stages, but substitute Moise Kean smacked the bar, despite being unmarked in the box from a low cross.

Juan Cuadrado also had an effort from right tipped onto the woodwork, before Federico Bernardeschi pulled just wide.
