Simone Inzaghi wants Lazio “courage” in the Italian Super Cup clash with Juventus tomorrow night, but has Keita Balde Diao and Felipe Anderson doubts.

It kicks off on Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

“We reach this Final in good shape,” said the Coach in his Press conference. “We need courage and to fight as a team for every ball. We’re proud to be here and want to take our chance. We’re the underdogs, but you never know in football.

“We prepared many things and are ready to face this game tomorrow. We had an excellent pre-season and worked since July 4 to be ready for the Super Cup. We’ve been unlucky against Juventus, who are already the best team in Italy, and will need a perfect performance.”

Juventus won the Coppa Italia Final here 2-0 back in May with goals from Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci, who both left this summer.

“I think we did deserve to lose the Final, as we conceded an avoidable goal and made some avoidable errors. Juve are the favourites, as unfortunately the numbers speak clearly. Lately we have had an unlucky tradition against them.”

Lazio have a tense wait, as Felipe Anderson is racing to be fit in time for the big match.

“Today we will evaluate Felipe Anderson’s condition, even if it will be difficult. The lad said he is willing to try. As with every game, I have doubts over the line-up.

“Could Lucas Leiva start? He has settled in very well and is a real leader.”

Both Juve and Lazio have lost important players to Milan over the summer, specifically Bonucci and Lucas Biglia.

“The club tried to the end to keep Biglia, as did I, but his mind was made up. Bonucci is a great player, but Juventus remain just as strong as they were last season.”

It remains to be seen whether Keita will feature, as he has made it clear he wants a transfer to Juventus.

“There are rumours around Keita and I will observe everything. In my mind, players need to give 100 per cent. If I can see that in Keita, then he’ll play, otherwise I’ll look to someone else.”
