Sporting CP are now prepared to pay some of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa’s salary during a loan from Inter, but negotiations continue.

The Portuguese giants had asked to take Gabigol on loan for this season and the striker was eager to complete the move so he could get more regular playing time.

However, Sporting wanted Inter to shoulder the entirety of his wages during that season, which would amount to €2.5m net.

According to Sportitalia, there has been a breakthrough, as the club opened up to paying almost half of his salary.
