“He is a great champion and it’s great that great champions are arriving.

“I have to say that all the new signings are good lads and professionals and this is important.”

With so many new arrivals under the club’s Chinese new owners, club manager Abbiati was also asked about Milan’s chances of competing for the Scudetto.

“Milan have to play and think about doing well.

“There are a lot of new players, we have to think game by game and give our best to get this club back to a high level.

“We have to look to fight for all the maximum objectives. We wear a historic shirt and we need to get back to making history.”
