Genoa have reportedly frozen out Luca Rigoni after he refused a deadline day transfer to Benevento.
The 32-year-old midfielder’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he scored three goals in 31 games for the Grifone.
According to Il Secolo XIX newspaper, Rigoni turned down a move to Benevento, despite being told he was not in Coach Ivan Juric’s plans.
Now he is said to be training separately from the rest of the squad and might not be picked again.
It’s therefore possible Rigoni and Genoa will terminate the contract by mutual consent, as other Serie A sides can still sign a free agent.
His previous clubs include Vicenza, Chievo and Palermo.
