Juventus target Emre Can is reportedly demanding a release clause in any new contract with Liverpool.

According to the Mirror, talks between Can and Liverpool over an extension “have hit an impasse” as a result.

The newspaper explains his stance stems from how the Reds were able to reject several large bids from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.

The Germany midfielder is entering the final season of the four-year deal he signed with Liverpool when he joined from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014.

As it stands, he will be free to speak to clubs outside the Premier League from January 1.

Reports in Italy claim Can has a five-year contract waiting for him at Juve, either in January or next summer.
