“The Giallorossi are a great side who need to win, whereas it’s a test of our maturity and I think my team can put in a great performance,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“It’ll be complicated, as Roma have the complete package with physicality and quality, as confirmed by the fact they topped their Champions League group.

“It’s not true to say we’ve got nothing to lose, because there are three points up for grabs and we want the maximum possible. There’s no point us playing just to defend, because at the end of the day you concede anyway.

“We have options, including a ‘lightweight’ attack. Joao Pedro and Leonardo Pavoletti provide quality thanks to their characteristics, while Marco Sau can play an hour, but not the full 90 minutes.”

Rafael and Luca Ceppitelli are in the squad, but did not take part in the full training session on Friday, while Daniele Dessena and Paolo Faragò are injured.

Cagliari squad for Roma: Rafael, Cragno, Daga; Van der Wiel, Andreolli, Miangue, Romagna, Pisacane, Ceppitelli, Capuano; Cossu, Cigarini, Joao Pedro, Barella, Padoin, Ionita, Deiola; Giannetti, Farias, Sau, Pavoletti, Melchiorri
