Arsenal have reportedly preparing a €40m bid for Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani.

According to Calciomercato.com via Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal are keen on bringing in Rugani to bolster their defence, which has come in for criticism this season.

The website adds “it’s difficult but not impossible” for the 23-year-old to leave Juve next month.

Rugani has made 13 appearances in 2017-18 to date but finds himself behind Medhi Benatia, Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli in the Bianconeri’s pecking order, while he also faces competition from Benedikt Howedes and – as of next season – Mattia Caldara.

The Old Lady have rejected offers for Rugani in the past, with Calciomercato concluding their management is of the belief that “there’s no-one better coming through in Italy.”
