Frosinone Coach Moreno Longo concedes the 3-0 defeat to Inter was “the right result, but we made life difficult for an hour.”

The Canarini had been unbeaten in four Serie A rounds, but capitulated at San Siro to a Keita Balde Diao brace and Lautaro Martinez header.

“I think it’s the right result, but Frosinone should be content with the fact we made life difficult for Inter for an hour, creating three great scoring opportunities with Raman Chibsah and Daniel Ciofani,” Longo told Sky Sport Italia.

“Once the second goal went in, we knew that we’d be tired and our heads might drop, so they scored the third. Inter found the net at the right moments for them, right after we had chances and didn’t take them.”

Nonetheless, Longo remains confident Frosinone can fight it out for Serie A safety, despite a disastrous start to the campaign.

“I think it took us five rounds to really become a team, as we were under construction after a summer of big changes. The leap from Serie B to Serie A also took some getting used to, but we found the right path and can look to the future with confidence.

“I’d say we are in a group of five or six sides who are battling for safety, but the level has improved this year, as SPAL, Empoli, Udinese and Bologna have quality squads at their disposal. It’ll ultimately go down to the details.”
