Maurizio Sarri believes Chelsea are “finding some consistency” after a 3-0 Europa League victory over Dynamo Kiev, “but need to be on alert.”

The Blues gave themselves a solid first leg lead in the Round of 16, with goals from Pedro, Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

“The team is finding some consistency in performances, results and also in defensive solidity. We are on the right track,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We won four of our last five games and drew the other with Manchester City (losing that Carabao Cup Final on penalties, ndr), in that period conceding only one goal and scoring 10.

“However, seeing as we had problems with mentality and consistency in the past, we need to be on alert and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Sarri confessed to Italian media last week that he was in talks with Chelsea to plan pre-season, so did not think he was up for the sack.

Has he also discussed the transfer market ban imposed on the Premier League side?

“I am not particularly interested. We just planned out a possible pre-season activity schedule going up to the start of the Premier League in August.

“In any case, there are some appeals going on and there’s a chance it could all get sorted out.”
