Gianfranco Zola has admitted that he’d like to get back into football – with a job at Chelsea his dream.

“I do miss the field of play and the games,” the former West Ham tactician told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “But I don’t know what will happen.

“I do miss the field of play and the games,” the former West Ham tactician told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “But I don’t know what will happen.

“When you are out of a job, you are contacted and made offers. But there is still a gap between that and a contract.

“It also depends on the quality of the project being offered.

“Chelsea? I’d be a hypocrite if I said that I wouldn’t want the job, but I don’t think there are the right conditions in place for that.

“As a Chelsea fan I always want the team to be in the best possible hands, as they are right now with Roberto Di Matteo.”

Zola, 45, spent seven years as a player at Stamford Bridge.

After ending his playing days, he assisted Gigi Casiraghi with the Italian Under-21 side before moving to West Ham.

He hasn’t worked since his 2010 exit, but did hold talks with Lazio” data-scaytid=”9″>Lazio earlier this season after Edy Reja threatened to quit.
