Walter Gargano and his agent with talk to Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon on Friday about the player’s future.
Although the Uruguayan is contracted to the Stadio San Paolo outfit until 2015, a meeting has been set-up in the Italian capital.
“I’ll be in Rome tomorrow to talk to Bigon and the player,” representative Pablo Betancourt told Radio CRC.
“Gargano is happy in Naples, but we need to understand the intentions of the club. Right now he’s one of the symbols of the outfit and he deserves it.
“Last year Fiorentina wanted him and an agreement was virtually done, but then he decided to stay at Napoli.
“There is also a German club who have been asking me about the player for the last year, but he wants to remain where he is.”
The central midfielder, 27, has scored two goals in 29 Serie A games so far during this campaign.
