Inter director Marco Branca confirmed they are “in talks” with Atletico Mineiro to sell Diego Forlan.
Reports of an offer from the Brazilian club have been circulating for the last few days and the Nerazzurri have now made them official.
“It’s true, we received a proposal from Atletico Mineiro for Forlan. We are in talks, but I cannot give any other information at this time,” Branca told Uol Esporte.
“Forlan is considering this possibility, but nothing has been decided yet. We are talking about it, but this is a complicated negotiation process.”
The 32-year-old Uruguayan striker arrived from Atletico Madrid over the summer, but due to injuries, poor form and an astounding administrative howler that prevented him from featuring in the Champions League group phase, only managed two goals in 13 games.
Forlan could well have played his last match in an Inter jersey, as he is out of tomorrow’s clash with Lazio due to an ankle injury.
