Cabrini gets Italian job

Antonio Cabrini is the new Coach of the women’s Italian national side after replacing Pietro Ghedin in the role.

The latter is now the new national boss of Malta’s male team, thus giving the 1982 World Cup winner a chance to get back in the game.

The Juventus legend has struggled to make a career for himself as a Coach since he hung up his boots in 1991.

Cabrini has bossed Arezzo, Crotone, Pisa and Novara , but has never been handed a job in the top flight.

He was named as the national boss of Syria in September 2007, but his contract was cancelled for financial reasons in February of the following year.
