Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez is likely to leave Catania, says his agent, after confirming offers from Atletico Madrid and Inter.
The 24-year-old wide attacking player is of interest to the likes of Inter and Roma, but also has a market outside Serie A.
“Gomez is now a player ready to join a big club, seeing as he has done so well in two years at Catania,” agent Leonardo Rodriguez told Itasportpress.
“I spoke to Inter technical director Marco Branca 10 days ago and he expressed an interest in my client, but there are other teams in Italy and Spain who want Gomez.
“In particular Atletico Madrid are eager to sign him, seeing as their Coach is Diego Pablo Simeone, who worked with Gomez at San Lorenzo and Catania.
“Will Gomez leave Catania? I think so, even if I’ll have to talk it over with their new director of sport Sergio Gasparin as soon as I get to Sicily.”
