Having been turned down by Mauricio Pochettino, Sampdoria are reportedly offering the job to ex-Inter Coach Rafa Benitez.
The Blucerchiati were promoted from Serie B by winning the play-offs and that automatically extended Beppe Iachini’s contract, but the club seems determined to find a big name.
According to the latest reports in Italy, Sampdoria will meet with former Liverpool boss Benitez on Monday to present their plans.
Benitez has been out of work since he was split from Inter in December 2010, just six months into his troubled stay at San Siro.
It has been reported he rejected the chance to join Atletico Madrid.
