The Bianconeri finished seventh and missed out on Europe under Del Neri a year ago, but won the Scudetto and reached the Coppa Italia Final in Conte’s first campaign.
“Conte has a certain DNA in his football and a winning mentality. I admire him very much,” Del Neri told Tuttosport.
“The whole team deserved to win and that made me happy too. Sadly, I was extremely unlucky in my time there.
“Before the incredible series of injuries, we were getting good results. If I’d had a bigger squad, who knows what might have happened...”
