Napoli made Balzaretti enquiry

Palermo have revealed that only Napoli have made a bid for Federico Balzaretti – but they turned it down.

The left-back is being paired with Milan and Lazio, but the Rosanero are adamant that he is going nowhere.

“Balzaretti has a contract with us,” President Maurizio Zamparini told Radio Radio. “The only club who have asked me for him is Napoli.

“Only Aurelio De Laurentiis made an enquiry. He is a gentleman and he came directly to me without involving agents.

“He phoned and asked if there was the possibility that I could sell the player to Napoli, but I told him that Balzaretti will stay here.”

The Euro 2012 stopper, 30, is contracted until June 2013 and is in talks with the Sicilian club over a three-year extension.

The former Torino, Juventus and Fiorentina man has also been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain in the past as his wife works in the French capital.
