Giuseppe Rossi and Domenico Criscito have applauded their Italian international teammates despite the 4-0 loss to Spain in the Euro 2012 Final.
Villarreal striker Rossi missed the competition after again rupturing knee ligaments in April, while the Zenit St Petersburg defender was omitted after he was named in the betting match fixing investigation.
“I'm too proud of my teammates,” the forward wrote on his official Twitter account. “They gave us great emotions for a month and that's why I say thank you.”
Meanwhile, Criscito tweeted: “Despite the result of the Final, I compliment my friends for their European Championship. You were great…”
