El Shaarawy encourages young Milan

Stephan El Shaarawy admits he won’t be too upset if Milan don’t replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “All teams should focus on youth.”

The teenager scored in last night’s Trofeo TIM, though the Rossoneri lost both mini-games against Inter and Juventus.

“It may just be summer football, but it’s always a great pleasure to score against Inter,” he told MilanNews.

“Despite the defeats, we will get right back on track and are confident we have a good squad.”

With money tight despite selling Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to PSG, it’s rumoured Milan won’t bring in a top star to reinforce their attack.

“Am I the future of the side with Alexandre Pato? I think in general all teams should focus on youth, because we have a lot to prove.

“Milan are doing this, even if there are also other forwards in the squad. We are all at the disposal of the Coach.

“In terms of tactics, I do prefer starting out wide on the left, as I played in a trident with Padova in Serie B. It’s my ideal position, as I can cut in and go for goal.”
