Lazio Coach Vladimir Petkovic is ready to face Galatasaray and admits he tried to sign Burak Yilmaz, “but he wanted to end his career in Turkey.”
The Biancocelesti fly in to Istanbul on Saturday evening for an international friendly against Fatih Terim’s Galatasaray.
“There will be many champions on the field, including Miroslav Klose, while we’ll finally have the chance to meet with Burak Yilmaz,” Petkovic told fotospor.com.
“We wanted to sign him, but it wasn’t possible. Lazio buy players only according to the rules.
“It would’ve been a great opportunity for Yilmaz and for us, but the great thing about being a player is you don’t necessarily have to always play for big clubs. Burak wanted to end his career in Turkey.”
Former Lazio players in action for Galatasaray include Lorik Cana and Fernando Muslera.
