Watford started the Championship with a 3-2 victory away to Crystal Palace and had two Udinese-owned players to thank for it.
The club was bought in the summer by the Pozzo family, who also own Udinese and Spanish side Granada.
They are using Watford as a feeder club, loaning out Udinese players who need to gain experience and time on the field.
These Friulani proved decisive in today’s last-gasp win over Crystal Palace, as Gianfranco Zola’s team was trailing 2-1 at the 88th minute.
Midfielder Almen Abdi equalised and 20-year-old Czech striker Matej Vydra completed the turnaround in stoppages.
Not only are Watford packed with Udinese-owned players, but they also have Coach Zola and transfer guru Gianluca Nani at the helm.
