Alessandro Diamanti has officially signed a contract extension tying him to Bologna until June 2017.
The statement was released this evening by the club website, adding that his wages had been improved as part of the deal.
Diamanti was a surprise inclusion in Italy’s Euro 2012 squad and remains part of Cesare Prandelli’s plans.
He had spent last season in Bologna despite being co-owned by Brescia, but the two clubs failed to reach an agreement on making the move permanent.
It went to a blind auction, which the Rossoblu won with a higher offer for the remaining 50 per cent of his registration.
