Patron Giampaolo Pozzo is confident Udinese’s dismal start to the season is “down to the difficult fixture list.”
The Friulani are yet to get off the mark in Serie A after defeats to Fiorentina and Juventus, while they were eliminated by Sporting Braga in the Champions League play-offs.
“I was satisfied with the performance and you can see these are quality players who just need to settle in,” said Pozzo of Saturday’s 1-1 friendly draw with Croatian side Rijeka.
“We have a good squad to draw from in both Serie A and Europe, two tough competitions that require our attention every week.
“Our start to the season has been down to the difficult fixture list. I wouldn’t get too worried right now.”
