Alessandro Diamanti has commented on the fact that he and Bologna teammate Alberto Gilardino are in the latest Italy squad.
Diamanti has become an international regular in recent months, but Gilardino returns to the Giro Azzurro after a year in the international wilderness.
“I think it’s something very satisfying for the city of Bologna, the fans and also for the club,” noted the attacking midfielder.
Italy will play Armenia and Denmark in World Cup qualifiers over the next 10 days after a draw and a win against Bulgaria and Malta last month.
