Siena have handed veteran midfielder Simone Vergassola a new contract at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The club captain, now 36-years-old, has put pen to paper on a fresh deal that will now run to June 2014.
“It is a great joy for me to continue defending the colours of this shirt and a great honour,” he commented.
“I’d like to thank the club for giving me their faith. I’ll certainly work hard in an effort to pay them back for that.”
The former Carrarese, Sampdoria and Torino player has been with the Tuscan outfit since 2004. His previous deal was set to expire at the end of the season.
