Palermo have officially sold midfielder Nicolas Bertolo to Mexican club Cruz Azul.

A statement on the Sicilian club website confirmed the move is permanent and takes the Argentine to Cruz Azul Futbol Club.

Bertolo was bought by Palermo in 2009 for €3.7m from Banfield, though he spent a period on loan at Real Zaragoza.

He turns 26 next month and notched up three goals in 56 Serie A games.
