Alexander Merkel is hoping to finally deliver on his potential after joining Udinese from Genoa this month.
Merkel is a promising young midfielder who has spent his career to date with the Rossoblu and Milan.
However, after failing to break into the first team plans of Gigi Del Neri this term, Merkel has been shipped out to Udinese.
“I’m happy to be at a great club like Udinese,” he told the side’s website. “This is a club which allows youngsters to grow up. You become a footballer here.
“The squad as a whole has impressed me. Everyone wants to help each other and that is very important if we want to win.”
The German, still just 20, moved to the Zebrette in a co-ownership deal as part of the agreement that saw Antonio Floro Flores move to Genoa.
