“Lisandro Lopez will not be joining Juventus,” confirmed Olympique Lyonnais despite reports of the Bianconeri sending a delegation to France.
According to Tuttosport, Juve had sent director Fabio Paratici and agent Oscar Damiani to France in order to further discuss the potential transfer.
The rumours were fuelled by the fact Lisandro did not play in the game with Valenciennes, officially due to illness.
“Lisandro Lopez will not be joining Juventus,” assured President Jean-Michel Aulas after the game.
“The rapport with Andrea Agnelli remains good, though. Lisandro is indispensible for Lyon, as it is an issue of image, charisma and professionalism.
“He is a leader of this team, so we said no to the proposal from Juventus.”
Meanwhile, there are reports Nicolas Anelka will be in the stands of the Juventus Stadium tonight to watch his new teammates take on Genoa.
The veteran striker has agreed a deal with the Bianconeri and is only awaiting a clearance fax from FIFA.
