Andrea Ranocchia believes Inter’s 4-1 victory over Tottenham can “give us an important psychological push” to face Sampdoria.
The Nerazzurri were eliminated from the Europa League on away goals in extra time, 4-4 on aggregate.
“Yesterday’s victory proved we are still alive and kicking,” defender Ranocchia told Sky Sport Italia.
“After a 3-0 first leg defeat away from home, we fought back against all the odds. We proved that we believe in ourselves.
“Those who played will recover to face Sampdoria on Sunday evening. That win can give us an important psychological push, as we absolutely must qualify for the Champions League.
“Many teams are in the race and consider third place to be fundamental, but we are ready to fight to the bitter end.”
Inter are currently in fifth place in the Serie A standings, four points adrift of Milan in third.
