Pulga challenges Tuscan curse

Ivo Pulga hopes Cagliari can give a little bit more to end their ‘curse’ at Siena. “We’ve never won there in Serie A, but there’s always a first time.”

The Sardinians have a poor record in Tuscany, earning only four draws and six defeats here between Serie A and B. Click here for a match preview.

“We do not have a positive tradition in Siena and have never won there in Serie A, but there’s always a first time,” smiled the Coach.

“Siena are a very good side who are playing the game of their lives. Innocent Emeghara is a dangerous striker, but not the only one in that squad who can cause us problems. Beppe Iachini also knows how to give his team the right spirit.

“Our performance will depend on how we approach the game, as will the final result.”

Luca Rossettini is suspended, while Marco Sau and Daniele Conti both miss out due to physical problems.

Cagliari squad for Siena: Agazzi, Avramov; Ariaudo, Astori, Avelar, Del Fabro, Murru, Perico, Pisano; Cabrera, Casarini, Cossu, Dessena, Ekdal, Eriksson, Nainggolan; Ibarbo, Nenè, Pinilla, Thiago Ribeiro
