Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari insists Italy “are at a more advanced stage of the renewal process” ahead of tomorrow’s friendly clash.
The nations who have won more World Cup trophies than any other meet in Geneva for an international friendly at 19.30 GMT.
“The Azzurri are at a more advanced stage of the renewal process compared to us,” said Scolari.
“My Brazil has been working together for only two games, whereas Cesare Prandelli’s side is Vice-Champion of Europe.”
The Selecao boss announced his starting XI for the game, which will be a 4-3-3 formation, and continues experiments for the 2014 World Cup.
“Kaka will be on the bench, though he will play during the course of the match and he could well start against Russia.”
Italy and Brazil will meet again in the Confederations Cup in June this year, but the South Americans have dropped to 18 in the FIFA rankings.
“I am counting on being competitive for the Confederations Cup. I have to reconstruct the winning mentality of the team.
“The fans are depressed at the difficult moment that our football is going through.”
