Sirigu suffers knee injury

Salvatore Sirigu is the latest injury concern for Italy on the eve of the Confederations Cup semi-final against Spain.

Having lost the Milan pair of Ignazio Abate and Mario Balotelli for the rest of the tournament, the goalkeeper is now worrying national team doctors.

The Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper, Gigi Buffon’s reserve, twisted his right knee in training with the Azzurri.

His condition will be carefully monitored over the next 24 hours before a decision is made on whether he will be on the bench or not tomorrow evening.
