Line-ups: Sampdoria-Juventus

Reigning champions Juventus start the defence of their title with Carlos Tevez against a Sampdoria that beat them twice last season.

Antonio Conte’s men are aiming for a third consecutive Scudetto, which the Bianconeri have not achieved since the 1930s. Their campaign kicks off at Marassi at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), click here for a match preview.

Juve’s confidence is sky high after thrashing Lazio 4-0 in the Italian Super Cup last week, which saw Tevez score on his official debut.

The former Manchester City striker starts again in Genoa, partnering Mirko Vucinic, as Fernando Llorente is still not 100 per cent fit.

Claudio Marchisio is out for a month with a knee injury, while Simone Pepe is still sidelined, so Paul Pogba takes over in midfield.

Sampdoria shocked Juventus twice last season, winning both at Marassi and in Turin, the away match despite going down to 10 men.

Vasco Regini and Renan are suspended, but Juve-owned Manolo Gabbiadini partners Eder in attack.

Sampdoria: Da Costa; Gastaldello, Palombo, Costa; De Silvestri, Eramo, Berardi, Krsticic, Obiang; Eder, Gabbiadini

Juventus: Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Vucinic
