Verona put survival above sales

Verona sporting director Sean Sogliano insists his club are not presently thinking about selling their rising stars.

The Gialloblu have been a revelation in Serie A so far this season and the big clubs are already monitoring the likes of Jorginho.

“It is pleasing that people are talking about our players, every game is an exam for them to show their quality,” the former Palermo official noted.

“However, we are eager to collect points rather than to start selling our players.

“This is a really satisfying moment right now, but we have to keep our feet on the ground and get what we need to avoid relegation.

“I hope that our players can keep impressing.”

Newly promoted Verona, fourth, will travel to Inter this weekend.
