Roma are in mourning after the death of Amedeo Amadei, who won their first Scudetto in 1941-42.
The striker was 92 years old and died this morning. The funeral will be held in the Frascati Cathedral on Tuesday.
Nicknamed ‘Il Fornaretto,’ he played for the Giallorossi from 1936 to 1948, except for a brief spell with Atalanta.
He scored 174 Serie A goals in 423 games and is the 12th top hitman of all time, while he is the youngest player to make his debut at age 15 years, nine months and six days.
Amadei was also a Coach at Napoli, Lucchese and for the Italy women’s squad from 1972-78.
