Di Francesco: 'Montella was my ball boy'

Sassuolo Coach Eusebio Di Francesco reveals Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella “used to carry my bag.”

The pair go head to head today at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“It won’t be easy, but it will certainly be a different game from our defeat to Juventus,” said Di Francesco in his Press conference.

“The Viola concede a lot of goals, but that is because they play such open and attacking football. We must do well to make the most of those spaces.

“Above all, it will be essential not to sit too deep. Fiorentina have great technical players and can keep the ball for a long time.”

Di Francesco was Montella’s teammate at Empoli and now both are successful Serie A tacticians.

“Montella is doing a great job and is a really good friend. Vincenzo is building a strong career, whereas when he was younger he used to carry my bag...”

Francesco Magnanelli is suspended and Francesco Acerbi begins cancer treatment this week, but Domenico Berardi returns from his ban.
