Eusebio Di Francesco has been sacked by Sassuolo, ending weeks of speculation that he was about to be let go.
Reports have emerged since the start of the month that the Neroverdi hierarchy would get rid of the 44-year-old.
However, the board have finally lost patience with the ex-Italy international this afternoon, and have released a statement thanking the Coach during his 18-month spell.
“U.S. Sassuolo Calcio can announce that it has dismissed Eusebio Di Francesco as first team Coach,” it read.
“The club would like to thank Mr. Di Francesco for the important work he has done during his spell and for the success he has brought this club.”
Alberto Malesani, Ciro Ferrara and Pippo Inzaghi have all been linked with the post.
