Luca Antonelli says that he is not looking to prove anything to anyone at Napoli, as he prepares to line up against them with Genoa.

The full-back was seen as on the verge of completing a midseason transfer to Rafa Benitez’s side in January, only to opt against the move at the last minute.

Preparing to line up against the Partenopei this Week 25 on the Monday night, the 27-year-old has looked to outline where his focus will be.

“I do not need to prove anything to anyone, it will not be a special game for me,” Antonelli has insisted in today’s edition of Tuttosport.

“Instead, I must look to further improve myself to see if I can match up to a great club like Napoli, but I do not need revenge. And then, Genoa are the best that I could hope for in my career.

“The story of the January transfer window has not affected me because I asked the President, Preziosi, to stay and he was happy.

“I am very happy with how things have turned out. I would exchange a goal for Genoa to win. But if I do score then I will take the whole team out for dinner, I promise.”
