Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini has thanked the Sampdoria fans who applauded him in yesterday’s match between the two teams.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a two year spell at the Genoa club and was pleased with both the reception he got and his current side’s 2-0 victory.

“I again want to thank the Sampdoria fans for their applause and for the warm reception they always give me,” Pazzini wrote on his official Facebook page.

“Yesterday was an important win against a good team, congratulations to everyone.”

Pazzini suffered a broken nose during the match against his former side.

“My nose does not feel great but later we’ll do some tests and we’ll decide what to do,” he said.
