Alessandro Nesta has started his new career as part of Montreal Impact’s staff after hanging up his boots.
The former Lazio and Milan defender retired from playing in October, but has decided to stay in Canada at his last club.
Nesta joins the technical staff as a consultant, primarily viewing video footage of games to provide scouting reports.
“Alessandro knows the players well, the coaching staff and the philosophy of our club,” said Sporting Director Nick De Santis.
“He’ll help the coaching staff throughout the season, principally as a video analyst, providing scouting reports on our games and those of our opponents.
“We hope that this experience will be beneficial for him, knowing that he wants to become a head coach.”
