Spanish media claim Napoli will renew their attempts to sign Javier Mascherano from Barcelona.
The midfielder has long been linked with a switch to the Stadio San Paolo, especially as he worked with Rafa Benitez at Liverpool.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona do not intend to sell the player, but Mascherano could push for a transfer.
He had already considered this option in January, though a summer switch would be more likely to go through.
The Argentina international will turn 30 in June, which could also affect the club’s decision.
Mascherano has been at Camp Nou since August 2010 and his contract is due to expire in June 2016.
